I have had the privilege of being a student of Niambh Doolan’s for three years now, and I cannot recommend her enough.It is rare to find a teacher as skillful and supportive as Niambh.She has been nothing but completely encouraging, motivated, and passionate. I have learned so much from Niambh; she has greatly shaped the actor, and person, that I am today.As I started to take my acting to the next level, Niambh was there with me. I never felt unprepared. She is not someone who will be passive in your training, she will work closely with you and give you pertinent advice on how to improve - there is no such thing as perfection! Niambh always gave me space to discover what I wanted to do with a character or a piece, and she always wanted every artistic decision to come primarily from the actor. This ensured that I progressed as an artist myself, and I learned how to make educated decisions on my roles. She provides a safe space for failure, which allows her students to try new things, allowing them to grow as artists.

Niambh is a consummate professional, keeping a cool head in a crisis. No matter how frantic rehearsals got, she was always there to settle everyone down, and get all the young actors ready to perform. She has an amazing ability for calming young people down, and easing their worries, a trait which is invaluable within this profession. She is undoubtedly one of the people that I feel has prepared me most for a career within the creative arts. She promotes discipline and self-confidence, and is always passionate and ready to work!

Niambh Doolan is a brilliant Speech and Drama Teacher. My two girls age 13 and 10 have been going to Niambh’s classes for the past few years and have always enjoyed them and gained friends along the way. Niambh has helped their confidence grow so much with their reading, writing, literacy, pronunciation, standing up on stage and exams. Niambh has also given them the ability to want to write their own stories and poems with great imagination and always has them well prepared for their exams. Not only does Niambh give the girls the tuition and skills in their classes but they have gained a friend in Niambh that they trust. Niambh’s classes are always buzzing with a great friendly vibe. Niambh is always there to help them with advice and support so they stand up tall and proud in their showcases, auditions, exams and everyday life. Niambh helps them explore and develop their ideas and talents in the right direction while always having fun and lots of laughter along the way. The girls have even benefited in school from Niambh’s classes and as their Mum I have watched them grow into two storytellers that have a lot of fun and magical ideas along the way.

Niambh worked with me to prepare for my college auditions for a year. She brought me to a level I never thought I could achieve! I did one exam with the Leinster school of music and drama, achieved top marks and was nominated for an Excellence Award.

Niambh gave me so much confidence and even though it was all online we made so much progress and had a lot of fun.
